Botulinum Toxin pre and post-care:

Botulinum Toxin: Toxin products used are supplied by Allergan – Botox Ⓡ.

The procedure, including the consultation, will take approximately 30 mins.

The area being injected is inspected, cleaned and a numbing agent is applied.

It is normal to have local swelling and bruising at the areas that are injected and this can take up to 2 weeks to clear. Treatment will result in the temporary and reversible paralysis of the specifically targeted muscles.

This paralysis usually lasts from 3-6 months and takes approximately 2 weeks for the full effect to be seen after injecting.

Botulinum toxin treatment requires a 2-week follow-up examination.

Botulinum Toxin Post-treatment

The area of treatment should be protected from direct pressure. Do not rub/massage the area for at least 4 hours post-treatment.

Do not lie down for 4 hours post injections
Do not do strenuous exercise for 8 hours after treatment
Temporary bruising and swelling can be expected for up to 2 weeks post-treatment
Arnica topical treatment can be carefully applied immediately post-treatment
Avoid make-up for 24 hours post injections
Note that use of antibiotics, anti-malarial medications and blood thinners are contra-indicated with Botulinum Toxin use

Filler pre and post-care:

Filler products used are supplied by Allergan – Juvederm Ⓡ.

The procedure, including the consultation, will take approximately 30 mins.

The area being injected is inspected, cleaned and a numbing agent is applied.

It is normal to have local swelling and bruising at the areas that are injected and this can take up to 2 weeks to clear.

The desired effect will last approximately 9-16 months. This treatment is reversible and non-permanent.

Complications will be discussed before treatment is initiated and signed consent is required.

Filler treatment requires a 2-week follow-up examination.

Intravenous Therapy pre and post-care:

This treatment requires a thorough medical history to be taken and signed consent.

Treatment is delivered using a small drip that is inserted directly into the vein.

A small cannulated needle is used and most infusions require 45 mins to be delivered.

Patients need to be seated comfortably or may need to lie down for comfort. Treatment will not be offered to patients younger than 16 years of age, patients with kidney disease, and pregnant/lactating women.

Infusion therapy is offered to optimize patients’ health and is approached by aiming to achieve short-term needs and long-term maintenance.

Treatment can be repeated at intervals of 1-2 weeks.

Patients may require blood investigations to be done by a pathology lab before treatment will be considered. This will depend on the medical history of the patient.
